Mentoring Program for EBR Middle Schoolers Launches
February 5, 2024—The Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System is proud to be a partner in LIFT—Leaders Inspiring the Faces of Tomorrow, an exciting new mentoring initiative sponsored by ExxonMobil Baton Rouge. Focused on sixth through eighth grade students across East Baton Rouge Parish, LIFT connects 50 middle schoolers with dedicated mentors through a collaboration with 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge and YMCA Baton Rouge.
The program includes weekly mentoring sessions, hands-on STEM activities, and career-focused field trips—all designed to build confidence, support academic growth, and inspire students to explore new career possibilities. These meaningful relationships are already making a lasting impact and helping shape the leaders of tomorrow.
At the Foundation for EBRSS, we are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that drive educational equity, build career pathways, and strengthen community partnerships. LIFT exemplifies all of that—and more.
We’re grateful to ExxonMobil Baton Rouge for opening their doors and leading the way as a corporate partner, and to our collaborators at 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge and YMCA Baton Rouge for their leadership and dedication to student success.
Together, we’re not just preparing students for the future—we’re empowering them to lead it with confidence and purpose.
