Introducing the Superintendent’s Society: Investing in Baton Rouge’s Future Through Education

April 30, 2025—The Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System, in partnership with East Baton Rouge Parish Schools and the Business Report, proudly introduced the Superintendent’s Society—a new initiative designed to unite Baton Rouge’s civic and business leaders in support of transformative educational progress.

Held at the East Baton Rouge Career & Technical Education Center (CTEC), the luncheon event gathered stakeholders from across the community to spotlight the vital connection between public education and the long-term success of our city. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., attendees were given an inside look at the future of education in action.

The program began with student-led tours of CTEC’s state-of-the-art classrooms, where guests saw firsthand how students are being prepared for high-demand careers in fields such as healthcare, technology, construction, and culinary arts. These immersive experiences demonstrated the value of investing in career and technical education that equips students with the tools to succeed in both college and the workforce.

The luncheon continued with a powerful keynote address by Superintendent LaMont Cole, who shared his vision for equitable, high-quality education across East Baton Rouge Parish. He emphasized that the Superintendent’s Society is more than just a donation—it’s a leadership signal and a direct investment in Baton Rouge’s talent pipeline.

A special highlight of the event was the lunch itself—planned, prepared, and served entirely by CTEC’s talented culinary arts students. Their attention to detail, creativity, and professionalism left a lasting impression and underscored the real-world learning taking place within our schools.

The launch of the Superintendent’s Society marks a pivotal step forward in building a stronger, smarter Baton Rouge. By fostering deeper engagement between the business community and our public schools, this initiative fuels the kind of educational progress that changes lives—and strengthens our city’s future.
