Workforce development in East Baton Rouge Parish is crucial for preparing students to succeed in high-demand, high-paying careers, ensuring they are equipped with the skills necessary for the modern job market. The EBR Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) plays a pivotal role in this effort by offering rigorous, project-based instruction, Industry-Based Certifications (IBC), and dual enrollment opportunities that allow high school students to earn college credits toward an Associate Degree while gaining hands-on experience in industries critical to the Capital Region's economy.

What We Do: Providing Support and Resources for Workforce Development

Through fundraising and community involvement, we provide support for local workforce development programs in East Baton Rouge Parish. These programs aim to equip individuals with the skills they need to succeed in high-demand careers and contribute to the region's economic growth. Your contributions make a direct impact on improving access to valuable training and career opportunities for members of our community.

CTEC offers a diverse range of programs designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in high-demand industries. These include Medical programs, where students can gain foundational healthcare knowledge and certifications; Construction Crafts, which provide hands-on training in the building trades; and Computer Science, where students can develop coding, programming, and technical skills essential for today’s tech-driven workforce. CTEC also offers Culinary Arts, allowing students to hone their skills in cooking and food preparation, as well as Process Technology, focusing on the technical aspects of industrial processes in fields like manufacturing and energy. Additionally, the Media Arts program fosters creativity and technical proficiency in digital media production, preparing students for careers in film, design, and communications. Through these programs, CTEC empowers students to pursue careers in some of the region’s fastest-growing sectors.
