$100,000 FUEL Scale Fund Grant Expands Career Pathways for EBR Students

April 29, 2025—We are thrilled to share exciting news that marks a major milestone for workforce development and educational equity in East Baton Rouge Parish. The Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the FUEL Scale Fund on behalf of EBR Schools!

Selected from over 50 competitive proposals across the state, our project rose to the top for its robust industry connections and its alignment with Louisiana’s growing energy sector workforce needs. This recognition underscores the strength of our vision—and our commitment—to preparing students for in-demand careers that power our state’s future.

What this means for our students:
Thanks to this generous funding, we will be able to provide internships to 40 students, opening doors to energy-focused career pathways that have historically been out of reach for many. These hands-on, real-world experiences will allow students to explore STEM careers, develop professional skills, and build connections that will serve them well into adulthood.

Our project is proud to hit all the marks, ensuring that students receive a future-ready education with meaningful exposure to the energy industry—one of Louisiana’s most vital economic drivers.

Looking ahead
At the Foundation for EBRSS, we believe that talent is everywhere—opportunity should be too. This grant is a powerful investment not only in our students but in the future of Louisiana’s energy workforce. We’re grateful to the FUEL Scale Fund for recognizing the impact of our work and for helping us create pathways that will change lives.

Stay tuned as we share updates from the students whose futures are being shaped by this opportunity. Together, we’re building brighter futures—one internship at a time.
