We’re celebrating our 100th Anniversary with the reopening of Istrouma High School and Istrouma Middle Magnet School
Join us for this great moment in history as Istrouma High School and Istrouma Middle Magnet School ushers in the next generation of scholars.
We encourage all Alumni and Organization (Athletic Teams, Band, Classes, Clubs, SGA Officers, etc.), Community-Partners and Friends to attend the Centennial Gala and Centennial Gospel Jubilee; and be represented in the Centennial Parade, and Centennial Souvenir Booklet.
CENTENNIAL EVENTS
We’ll kick off our celebration with the Homecoming Football Game October 11, 2017 @ 6:00PM (Louisiana Leadership Field - Hooper Road) followed by a fun-filled weekend of activities.
Centennial Gala
Istrouma High Gymnasium, October 13, 2017, 6:00PM
During the Centennial Gala we will recognize outstanding Students, Teachers, Administrators, Volunteers, and Community-Partners. A banquet filled with food, fun, music, and more importantly, fellowship with classmates and friends. The Meet & Greet Reception will include a self-guided tour of our newly renovated facilities.
Our special guest, Principal Chief Thomas Dardar Jr. of the United Houma Nation.
Centennial Parade
Winbourne Avenue, October 14, 2017, 10:00AM
We urge alumnus, family, and friends to salute each class (1917 – 2017) by walking/marching, or placing a vehicle/float in the Centennial Parade. The parade will travel from Winbourne Elementary School to the grounds of Istrouma High School.
Centennial Pow Wow
Istrouma High Court Yard, October 14, 2017, 12:00PM
The Centennial Pow Wow is a community festival with food, games, and fun. We are looking for vendors for this event. Only one vendor of each product type will be allowed.
Centennial Gospel Jubilee
Istrouma High Gymnasium, October 15, 2017, 3:00PM
A time of praise and worship, the Centennial Gospel Jubilee offers an opportunity to give thanks for the reopening of both Istrouma High School and Istrouma Middle Magnet School; our newly renovated facilities; and for the efforts of many in this endeavor. Choirs, vocalist and musicians across East Baton Rouge Parish are invited to participant. While it is a free event, donations will be taken.
We are asking alumni, community-partners, and friends to commemorate our 100th Birthday Celebration by placing an Ad in our Centennial Souvenir Booklet. Reflecting precious memories, this keepsake will highlight the proud history of Istrouma. Find Out More
