Opportunities Launched!

Business and Education Leaders to Launch GEN READY, A Capital Area STEM Collaborative

To grow our economy, we need to close a gap between educational preparation and workplace requirements.  This approach holds much promise for reinforcing a common agenda for high quality STEM education, sharing resources such as professional development, aligning PK-16 education with the workforce, and STEM opportunities in school and out.

The Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System is hosting the launch of GEN READY, A Capital Area STEM Collaborative.  The launch event will highlight the GEN READY Education to Employment Roadmap based on best practices that will meet the accelerating demand for STEM skills and specific STEM jobs in our region.

Gen READY began as BR STEM Network with a grant from ExxonMobil to the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System in 2017. The regional collaborative grew from the original network to improve access to high-quality STEM experiences for all learners.  GEN READY empowers communities to bring together cross-sector partners and encourages systemic change to ensure more students, particularly underserved and underrepresented students, develop the STEM knowledge and skills they need to learn and thrive in today’s world.
